The Suicide Girls - Blackheart Burlesque Poster

The Suicide Girls - Blackheart Burlesque

Fletcher Opera Theatre

Until October 18, 2019

A burlesque show with a nerdy twist, The Suicide Girls is chock-full of pop culture references and is performed to a high energy indie soundtrack, showcasing sexiest choreographed strip tease in geekdom! Strictly for the over-18s, this strip-tease/burlesque performance has different vignettes paying tribute to cultural phenomena such Star Wars, Orange Is The New Black, Donnie Darko, Clockwork Orange and more! Devised by world-renowned choreographer Manwe Sauls-Addison, who has worked on the massive concert tours for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, and Lady Gaga. Originally a touring opening act for GNR and Hole during the early Noughties, they have since made a name of their own as one of the leading strip acts in America.

Join John Cusack for a special screening of his seminal 2000 movie High Fidelity, followed by a Q&A where you can quiz the actor on the experience of movie making. Based on the book by Nick Hornby, it was something of a pet project for Cusack, who went about gaining the rights and moving the action from North London to his hometown of Chicago, a move praised by the Hornby who said 'at times, it appears to be a film in which John Cusack reads my book.'

Sinbad has kept America laughing hysterically for the best part of the last 20 years, and coming to prominence in the Nineties with a variety of television performances and film appearances, including Jingle All The Way, opposite Arnold Schwartznegger. He freely admits that he doesn't know actual jokes asuch, aside from those from "back in the day" that his preacher father told him. In fact, he credits his father's attendance at an early gig of his to concentrate on clean, observational humor - having been caught in the middle of telling a "semi-dirty story". His humor is inspired from every day events, from the people he meets, to the scrapes he gets into.

Actress, performer, and most recently presidential candidate Roseanne Barr returns to her stand-up roots.. The four-time Emmy Award winning entertainer is perhaps most memorable as Queen of the Prime Time Sitcom Roseanne and for her outspoken, often polarising public persona. She sure does like to disturb the peace, but with a such a comic flair only she can pull it off.
