Why See Carolina Ballet - Serenade?
out of this world
One of ballet legend George Balanchine's most beloved works, Serenade with its dreamlike poetry and beautiful blue tutus, is a cornerstone of 20th-century ballet and continues to inspire choreographers all over the world today.
A non-narrative ballet, many over the years have debated the meaning of Serenade, yet it still defies definition. However, with it's opulent soundtrack from Tchaikovsky, it certainly contains some true romance!
Did you know?
The bright blue tutus were the inspiration for the naming of the Balanchine crater on Mercury.
