The Sounds of Cinema!

The sweeping sounds of cinema grace Raleigh, with Sophie Mok conducting the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra through a program of high-flying works by movie-music royalty John Williams! A treat for film fans young and old, the full orchestra will perform selections of the soaring music from the beloved space opera saga Star Wars, bringing you an epic way to experience these incredible soundtracks and the perfect introduction to the magic of a live orchestra for the uninitiated.

And that's not all! Alongside the Star Wars cuts there will also be performances from some of the other Hollywood blockbusters which Williams' grand compositions have helped to define. There'll be a trip to the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar via the music of Jurassic Park, a soaring flight of fancy with the Superman theme, a journey to another side of the galaxy with Star Trek, and more. Don't miss out on this program of music by the legend who launched the idea of the modern American film score.
