Carolina Ballet presents the world premiere of Amy Hall Garner's new adaptation of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre Du Printemps: The Rite of Spring! A musing on the unstoppable power of mother nature, Stravinsky's timeless ballet is a sight to behold in any form, and this new choreography forms the headline act on a program which features two further world premieres, highlighting just how the medium of ballet continues to strive for new greatness in the present day and beyond.
Alongside The Rite of Spring is the premiere of Echo and the Narcissus by Zalman Raffael to music by David Goldstein, and another world-premiere in Gianna Reisen's Ophelia. Sandwiched between these new pieces is a true classic from the father of American ballet George Balanchine: Apollo, also set to Stravinsky's music and created when the famed choreographerwas just 24. A marvelous night at the ballet!
